When Meg's owner contacted me about creating a push-back pin brooch, she was very clear with the way she wanted Meg to be portrayed!
She told us that her Border Terrier had a very distinctive way of sitting and she wanted this to be captured in the finished piece of jewellery.

As soon as I saw Meg's photo, I knew exactly what she meant. Megs little back legs swing to the side when she sits down, and I agreed this would make for a very distinctive custom dog brooch.
I set to work cutting Meg's back legs, front legs, head, muzzle, nose and ears from pieces of sterling silver sheet. These were then engraved to capture that distinctive Border Terrier coat.
The tiny silver dog components were then painstakingly soldered together to create Meg's distinctive outline. Her eyes were engraved and the brooch was both oxidised and 22ct gold plated, to reflect Meg's Border Terrier colouring,
Her owner was delighted with the result and I hope you agree that she looks just perfect...a custom Border Terrier brooch to treasure forever.
